Harrisburg, PA- On Wednesday Penn FC 2011 Black’s, Owen Coyne, and Central Dauphin Field Hockey’s, Maya Williams, were named the Go Big Recruiting September players of the month. Heather Gray, OTS non-Pulitzer winning reporter reported that both Coyne and Williams are, “freakishly good.”
Coyne, a 10 year old burner has scored so many goals we lost count. As Penn FC ’11 Black’s leading scorer, Coyne has helped his team to an undefeated record and a win in the Keystone Cup in early September and was recently selected to participate in the Olympic Development Program. “One time when I was 8, my parents got a picture of me and it said “All Star” on it,” said Gray. “I was almost as good as Owen, right?” We broke it to Heather later that she was never anywhere close to being half as good as Owen, and that anyone could have bought the All Star picture. The team has been idle for several weeks but will be back in action this weekend in the Coppa Classic, right here in Harrisburg.
Williams, a junior forward for the Rams, is as dominant as they come. Helping her Rams to an 10-3 record, she has scored 20 goals, we think. “It’s somewhere between 10 and 30,”reported Gray. Gee Heather, thanks for that brilliant reporting. Williams is a big part of her team’s offense but always gives credit to her teammates. Her speed and stick skills are second to none and the way she creates opportunities for her team is something to be admired. Her leadership skills and vision on the field are a big reason the Rams are currently positioned in 5th place in the District 3 power rankings.
Congratulations to both Owen and Maya. Visit www.gobigrecruiting.com to learn more about their recruiting services if you’re an athlete with aspirations of playing in college. Check back next month as voting for the October Player of the Month will be open from November 1-5 on the OverTime Sports home page.
