The Rams trampled the visiting Eagles into flightless submission on Tuesday night with a 44-24 drubbing of the red team. Caroline Shiery, Megan Cavoli, and Alexis Buie scored 37 of the Rams 44 points.

Tad McFadden, OTS expert on basketball scoring, reported, “I’m not sure why Coach Gambelunghe sent the team out for the second half. They scored 25 points in the first half and Cumberland Valley only scored 24 the entire game.”

In a post game debriefing, our staff informed Tad that no one has a crystal ball and this is how competition works. He didn’t get it.

Gambelunghe’s Green Express keeps their full head of steam going as they take on the Colts of Cedar Cliff tomorrow evening on the West Shore.

CHAMBERSBURG

Six Rams scored 8 points or more as the CD ladies shut down Chambersburg 59-20. “Those six girls scored at least 40 points,” reported OTS intern, Chip Kingsley. We aren’t sure why we keep that guy around. It’s certainly not based on mathematical prowess.

The Rams hit 7 3s during the game with
Maya Dickerson draining 3 and Megan Cavoli splashing 2 from downtown. “Seven threes!” an excited Kingsley said.  “They didn’t even need to hit any other shots and they would’ve won!” We checked Chip’s bag for a calculator when he returned but didn’t find one. We can only guess he overheard someone say that at the game. Probably Ram’s scoreboard operator, Tim McMinn, who OverTime Sports has nominated for high school basketball scoreboard operator of the year.  “That guy is solid,” said Kingsley.  “He updates the score so quickly and stops and starts the clock like it’s his job,” added the ole Chipper.  Well Chip, it is his job.

The OTS #1 Lady Rams keep on winning and it doesn’t look like there are many opponents in district 3 who can stop Randy’s Rowdies this year.

The OTS #2 Lady Rams brought the Thunder against the Herd on Friday night with an electrifying 54-27 win. Reporting from the game was OTS paid intern, Heather Gray. “CD laid it on right from the start. It was raining threes all night as the Girls in Green hit 6 from downtown.” Maya Dickerson, Kenedy Cooper, Amelia Green, and Megan Cavoli all drained treys. “The Rams do it all. Down low. Downtown. Downward Dog. You’re going Down if you play the Rams.”  Clearly Gray has been working on her journalistic talents! Alexis Buie led the way for CD scoring 16 with Kenedy Cooper adding 8 and Megan Cavoli netting 7. CD is now 5-1 and it doesn’t matter who or where they play next. It doesn’t look like anyone is stopping the Gambelunghe Express.

The CD lady Rams continued their winning ways with a decisive 53-40 victory over the visiting Little Lions from Happy Valley.  Chance McDermott, OTS Head of Basketball Intelligence, was on hand. “CD’s presence in the low post combined with their speed at the 1 and 2 guard position plays well with their small forwards. Their Phil Jackson-esque  modified triangle offense suggests that Coach Gambelunghe is more of a basketball savant than anyone I’ve come across at the high school level, except myself, of course. On defense they employ an Uber-complicated box and 1  but will shift to a 2-3 zone and then to a man just to confuse the opposing offense.” We aren’t sure if McDermott is making that up but we did overhear a conversation between him and OTS intern, Heather Gray, where he said, ”You have to sound smarter than you really are. Throw out words and terms that make people think you know what you’re talking about. And, if other teams read it, they’ll think they have a good scouting report only to show up and be confused.” Interesting.  Back to the game though. Alexis Buie led the way netting 15 points while Caroline Shirey (13 pts) and Marlie Dickerson (12 pts) were up to their usual scoring shenanigans. Amelia Green added 7 points for the winners. The next victim, er, opponent for the Rams is the Thundering Herd from Carlisle, who visit this Friday evening for a 7:30 pm tip-off on Gambelunghe Court at Wayne Fletcher Indoor Stadium ( CD’s Gym).

CEDAR CREST

Not to be outdone, the Lady Rams finished off the doubleheader nightcap in a packed house at Central Dauphin with a 54-29 lambasting of the Falcons of Cedar Crest. We made unpaid OTS intern, Chip Kingsley, stay by offering to reimburse him for any walking tacos he bought for dinner at the concession stand. Game over. Caroline Shirey and Marlie Dickerson, both nominees for December player of the month, each dropped 13 points on the Falcons. Kingsley reported that “Caroline is like, tall, and Dickerson is, like fast, and they’re both, like, way good.” Once again, Kingsley’s brilliant analysis shines through! Alexis Buie added 8 points while Alexis Ferguson chipped in 7. “Are they twins?” wondered Chip.  No, Chip, having first names be the same, does not imply they are twins. Lauren Cavoli drained a pair of 3s for the Lady Rams who are now 3-1 and will take on the Little Lions tonight, right back in the gym at Central Dauphin. Not sure who will be reporting this evening as Kingsley has been suspended for a day for eating 12 walking tacos!
