On a beautiful and sunny Saturday, the Rams and Trojans battled back in forth with the Rams coming out on top in a close one. Chance McDermott, OTS Director of JV Softball tried to get an interview with head coach Tim McMinn after the game but the girls had to hurry to get on the bus and get to Sheetz for some app samplerz and ice cream.  At one point we heard him say "I am just happy to be here.  Hope I can help the ball club."

The Rams would take an 11-2 lead behind an offensive juggernaut attack and strong pitching by starter Caitlyn Mahady. Mahady, Rachel Burke, Lily Moyer, Ava Mansure and Elena Wolfe all collected multiple hits for CD. “I left the game in the third inning for a while so I could go to Sheetz myself,” said McDermott. “Figured the game was actually over at that point.”

Chambersburg would come back with an 11 run fourth to take the lead but the Rams wouldn’t let that get them down. “These ladies are tough,” McDermott reported, schnacking on a schmuffin. “I’ve never seen a tougher group of girls. They scare me.”

CD would plate 3 runs in the top of the seventh and with two outs and the winning run on second base Emma Wolfe made a fantastic catch at second base to end the game. “Best players I’ve ever seen on a Saturday afternoon in Chambersburg with two outs to win a game when CD is playing the Trojans,” exclaimed Chance. “The place went nuts as if they Rams were State Champions. I’ll remember this for the rest of my life as one of the greatest sports memories ever.”

Mary O’Gorman picked up the win in the mound for the Rams and Mansure and CF Haylee Hile scored 3 runs a piece for CD, who starts 1-0 on the year. Next up for the Rams is whoever is next on their schedule. Check this schedule to find out who, where, and when.
